How Afghan Tax Calculator works
Compare the July 2026 reforms with older schedules using individual forms, transparent formulas and downloadable results.
Tax calculations must distinguish between return finalization and the period when income arose. Results are estimates only.
Practical tax guidance and worked considerations
Choose the tax calculation that matches the transaction
The right model depends on what is being taxed. Salary withholding concerns employee pay, rental withholding concerns qualifying rent, contractor withholding concerns qualifying service payments, and Business Receipts Tax concerns taxable turnover. Corporate income tax normally works from taxable profit, not sales. Choose the dedicated calculator before entering an amount; a single AFN figure cannot establish the tax category on its own.
Select the correct assessment period and classification
Afghanistan announced several tax reductions in July 2026, but not every tax was changed in the same way or for every taxpayer. Historic and revised schedules must not be mixed for an earlier assessment period. Check whether the payer is licensed, whether the company qualifies for a reduced rate, and whether an exemption or special sector rule applies. Calculated results are working estimates, not tax assessments or proof of compliance.
